ClipPair

Privacy policy

Effective 2026-10-05. Operator: ClipPair, by Logan Carrillo, support@clippair.app.

The short version: your clipboard never leaves your network. We never see it. The only things ClipPair sends over the internet are for licensing and update checks, and they contain no clipboard content.

What stays on your computers

Everything you copy, your clipboard history (if you turn it on), your pairing phrase, your device names and groups. Clipboard data goes directly between your paired computers over your local network, encrypted end to end. There's no cloud relay, no account and no analytics or telemetry in the app.

What the app sends to our license server

Never sent: clipboard content, pairing phrases, computer names, files, history.

What our license server stores

We don't store your name, email address, order number, IP address or payment details on the license server. Your connection address is hashed briefly to prevent abuse and isn't saved. Our code doesn't log keys or requests. The license server runs on Cloudflare, which processes connection data as our hosting provider under its own policies.

Update checks

At launch and about once a day, ClipPair downloads a small signed update file from ClipPair's update server. That request contains no license key, device ID or clipboard content; like any web request, it shows your IP address to the server. To turn it off, open Settings and clear Check for updates automatically. An update installs only when you choose Install update…, or by itself if you turn on Install updates automatically.

Computers that join a licensed computer send nothing to the license server; they receive its proof over your local network.

Purchases

Gumroad sells ClipPair for us as the merchant of record. They collect your name, email, billing and payment details to process the purchase, taxes and refunds, under their own privacy policy. We can see your order details in our Gumroad dashboard and use them only to provide support and refunds.

This website

clippair.app uses no cookies, analytics or tracking scripts. Our web host may keep standard access logs (such as IP address and pages requested) for security and operations.

Email

If you email support, we keep that conversation to help you, and delete it on request.

Your rights

You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or ask for your license records to be removed by emailing support@clippair.app. Because the license server doesn't store your email, include your order number so we can find the right records. Revocation markers for refunded licenses are kept so a refund can't be undone by reactivating.

Changes

We'll update the date above if this policy changes.
